Purpose
Bashaw Valley Farm & Greenhouse believe in producing a quality product at a fair price.
Customer service is number one. We strive to treat everyone equal and offer honest yet practical
advice. The close relationship with our environment has led us to going green.  Growing up with
a farming background helped us realize  how fragile our environment is.  We strive  to use earth
friendly and environmentally responsible practices in our greenhouse, farm & fruit growing
operations. This is accomplished by using horticultural oils for insect control rather than
insecticides and using natural fungicides in our soil mix as needed. In our fruit production we
use all organic practices including; organic fertilizer, no insecticides or herbicides and lots of
old fashioned hard work.  You have no idea how humbling yet rewarding weeding an acre of
blueberries by hand is, until you have experienced this task first hand. Choosing these growing
practices, although a lot of hard work, has led to offering you a healthier product as well as
being environmentally responsible along the way.

Flower beds are part of the landscape.
The roots of Bashaw Valley are planted deeply on our family farm. We started out dairy farming
back in 1981. After several years of dairying we soon realized that if we were going to survive as a
family business we had better branch out into other business ventures. Linda, already having a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture, motivated us to try our luck at a retail garden center.
We started out by purchasing a used greenhouse in 1987 near Hayward WI which was used for
hydroponic tomato production. After a couple of years, of highly educational growing and retailing
under our belt, we decided to add another business. Never taking the easy road, in 1990 we
planted one acre of organically grown half-high Northblue
Blueberries. Since then three more
greenhouses and a retail shop have sprouted. After selling the dairy herd in 1995 and replacing
them with a beef cow-calf operation we decided on yet another business venture. The first of
seven storage buildings were built to accommodate your every storage need. Then in 2008 we
added to  our organic fruit production by planting more
Raspberries for a total of  3/4 acre. In
2009 our first planting of 1/3 acre Strawberries and 1/10th acre Asparagus were added to our
certified organic fruit and asparagus production. Future plans include experimenting with some
organically grown cherries, pears and plums . In 2009 we also began to direct market our all
natural Grass-fed  Angus beef directly through our retail store.  In 2011 we took our creativity to a
new level by designing  our very own  hand-crafted rusty metal art. After 24 years we still get
excited  when that first green sprout peeks through the soil after a long hard winter.
